10/31/19 GOD'S WORK OF SALVATION IN US

10/31/19 GOD'S WORK OF SALVATION IN US

Salvation is the miraculous work of God, reconciling and transforming us into His image.

God deals with us even before we are saved, drawing us to Himself and preparing us for salvation.
This includes awareness of sin, our own sin and our need for salvation from sin.
This includes God enlightening the human mind.
This includes God calling the sinner to repentance and faith in Christ.
This includes God enabling the sinner to repent, believe, confess.

This is Grace That Goes Before Salvation, also called Prevenient Grace. Prevenient Grace is related to Common Grace, which is the grace of God that keeps all men from becoming the monsters they would become, if they were not restrained by God Himself.

Then the sinner is convinced of the efficacy of Christ, followed by...

#1 Instantaneous, crisis, Divine, miraculous work of grace; Regeneration.

Subsequent to his justification, regeneration, conversion, the believer continues to walk in light and obey God's directives, as he continues to trust Christ and live in the power of the Holy Spirit of God.
The believer grows in grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ.
God leads the believer to understand his need for deliverance from the Sinful nature, just has he had received deliverance from the guilt and condemnation of sins committed.

#2 Instantaneous, crisis, Divine, miraculous work of grace, subsequent to Regeneration. God fills the believer with the presence, power and purity of the Holy Spirit; Heart Purity.

After a total surrender and unfaltering faith in God to cleanse him from all sin, the believer continues to grow in grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ.

God plans that the believer should continue to live in the Spirit and be changed constantly in his inner man.
