What can you do when Humanism attacks the children? In the 80's we opened a Church school (before it was socially popular).
The following list simply points out that even a small church with very limited resources can make a huge and lasting difference in the lives of the children and young people, which actually follows through to other generations.
Not only did we save those children from the physical and sexual abuse and attacks by profane and vicious students, but also the deliberate religious ridicule, moral corruption, mental and academic bullying of Humanistic teaches and administrators.
Not only did our children learn more in the academic setting of a Church school (and eventually a home school), they developed more social skills, higher moral standards, Christian values, family orientation, responsible economic views and appreciation for America. There are other areas that I could address, but this at least opens the door.
Here are 16 thoughts that came to me as I considered the importance of a little church deciding to do the right thing (taken from our own experience).
1/16 Our Church school (in the 80's) became a cost free Christian education within one year, in order to rescue the children.
2/16 Our Church school taught students to read, who were previously written off by P.S.
3/16 Our Church school accepted students from various backgrounds.
4/16 Our Church school was recognized for its academic accomplishment.
5/16 Our Church school received no outside or government money.
6/16 Our Church school was staffed by volunteers.
7/16 Our Church school had introduction to computer classes for all ages (during the 80's).
8/16 Our Church school taught academic courses rather than undermining families, faith and the future of America.
9/16 Our Church school did not become a change agent for the State.
10/16 Our Church school recognized the historical veracity and importance of the Bible.
11/16 Our Church school did not teach "sex education," "evolution," Fletcherism (values clarification, situation ethics).
12/16 Our Church school did not pry into family home life or drive a wedge between parent and child.
13/16 Our Church school did not recognize or follow humanistic Psychology or modernistic pedagogical philosophy.
14/16 Our Church school met in a shoe store building with partitions and desks built by church people.
15/16 Our Church school educated children and young people and led many of them into a commitment to Christian education.
16/16 Our Church school taught the sanctity, dignity and Divine origin of life, marriage, family, person-hood, faith.

Oops, I did not take a photo or video of our meeting yesterday. But this photo gives an idea of how nice it is. We still need to put down inexpensive carpet, add some movable tables and chairs as well as baseboard. The blue partition wall on the right actually rolls into position, giving us two classrooms.
We should launch our teaching, training, youth & children's ministry, and our Family-Fun Night in October. Stay tuned. I will give a schedule and hopefully make it available to folks on video. And, as always, this is Ministry, not Merchandising or Industry.
Our classes will include Bible, Theology, Cults, Church History, among other subjects. The courses will be short term (just a matter of a few weeks each) but they will be ministry level studies.

It is a good resource for study and lesson preparation. Every adult in our church should use this often, since you should be active in proclamation and teaching, in various forms. I offer this resource because it provides some very helpful information on certain subjects, and some of you will be developing your own lessons.

Here are the ministries and positions I am about to LAUNCH FOR OUR NEW WORK IN OCTOBER (beginning Oct. 6).
Sunday Bible Classes for children and adults for the next three months will focus on some of the Attributes of God.
As I have it planned, there will be at least One Teacher for the children, assisted by a Craft Worker and a young helper and a media person.
I will be teaching the youth and adults in a combined class.
The same material will be used for a Weekday Study, if there are other people interested in studying this subject.
Sunday AM Praise, Worship and Proclamation Meetings will focus on an overview of the Bible, with my preaching and teaching series called, Great Scenes of the Bible. This includes popular passages (from Genesis to Revelation), which were turning points in human relationship with God.
Sunday PM preaching and teaching from my series called, Great Themes of the Bible. My plan is to spend several weeks focusing on the Fruit of the Spirit.
Midweek Study and Fellowship time (Wednesday nights) will focus on the ongoing work of God transforming us from the rebellious people we have been, and conforming us into the likeness of Christ. It is a complete change, including our temperament.
We will soon start our children and youth meetings (hopefully in October). This will include recreational and athletic activities.
We are moving toward a very exciting puppetry ministry.
We have much more on the horizon. It will take a little while to get it all going, but we will, by God's grace.
Ministry teams of Building Upkeep, Teaching, Youth, Music, Puppetry, Fun & Family Night are being formed.
There are 17 of us (4 adult men, 5 adult women, 6 youths and 2 children). Every person has a personal testimony of salvation.
The calling is bigger than the called, but not bigger than the One Who Calls us.

"Traditions" of men are often contradictions to the revelation and expectations of God.
Religious or faith TRADITIONS are the teachings and practices developed in the past, which were "intended" to help explain and facilitate Christian action but often became a contradiction to the revelation of God.
Jesus put the traditions of men in stark contrast with the commandments of God.
Matthew 15:1-3
1 Then came to Jesus scribes and Pharisees, which were of Jerusalem, saying,
2 Why do thy disciples transgress the tradition of the elders? for they wash not their hands when they eat bread.
3 But he answered and said unto them, Why do ye also transgress the commandment of God by your tradition?
This extended passage addresses and covers the subject fairly well. It is worth taking time to read. Traditions my have their root in truth, but they sometimes blossom in error and corruption.

Another beautiful drive, coming back from Harkers Island.

I have often used the illustration that the men who lay the ties and the rails and tunnel through the mountain should not see themselves as putting down ties or rails or moving mountains. THEY SHOULD SEE THEMSELVES AS BUILDING A RAILROAD.
Likewise, those who lay tile, build walls, install baseboard, scrub floors, clean bathrooms, teach classes, sing songs should not focus on their present, individual task, but they should see themselves as EVANGELIZING, EDUCATING, EDIFYING... BUILDING THE CHURCH. Each individual task of "serving tables" is for the purpose of supporting the proclamation of the word of God in the ministry.
When the actual purpose is understood, then the urgency of each little, seemingly insignificant, part becomes a priority. There should be no less priority, urgency in any of the table serving or support ministries of the church than there is in the preaching of the word of God by the pastor.
Together we can turn the world, for the glory of God.

The Net House (Ministry) is about to set sail on our adventure cruise, at our new location in Beaufort. We will get together for a team meeting (praise, study and worship) this Sunday morning. Sunday night I will be preaching at Free Grace Wesleyan Church, on the Island. TNH Ministry team will meet together again on the last Sunday of this month (morning and evening) then we will open our doors to a structured schedule of ministry activities, including evangelization, education and edification.
I will be posting a list of studies soon, for those who are interested in sharpening their Christian ministry skills. This will include Bible, Theology and Ministry classes.

This reasonable schedule would easily field a new pastor or church planter in ten years. I KNOW IT IS POSSIBLE. In fact, it is not unthinkable for a small church, experiencing high growth to expect to produce 3 to 5 new ministries within ten years.
Now, follow that out as the norm for another five to ten years.
No, it might not happen, but it could. When we catch the wave of God's anointing it will happen.
Of course it is not simply a formula or schedule. The enemy is fighting against the work of God. But we should be looking for the power of God.
