09/11/19 BOASTING IN EVIL

Leaving a restaurant, I heard a construction worker on a roof use God's name in vain. As I was stepping from curb to street I looked up and saw two younger men and a middle aged man.

Walking into the street I looked back and loudly announced, "Jesus loves you." The two younger men responded politely and agreeably. The other guy boasted that he did not believe in God.

I immediately said, "I know that. But God believes in you. Jesus died for you." (obviously a different kind of belief, y'all.)


The fool (as the Bible calls the foul mouthed infidel), mockingly made the sign of the cross and told me to go drink my "holy water."

I immediately and loudly, from the middle of the street, turned and told him that Jesus also rose from the dead for him. The crude dude faded and slithered away.

I noticed that as soon as I confronted the man, one of the younger men moved away from the place of confrontation. The other younger man sat silently and appeared to be embarrassed by the situation.

At least they heard someone stand up for the name of God to the potty mouthed sinner. I am sure that all three of them thought about that strange little scene through the rest of the day.
