06/13/19 INCAPABLE AND UNACCOUNTABLE
In the areas that we are incapable, we are not accountable.
Infirmity is not sin.
Sickness is not sin.
Weakness is not sin.
CONSIDER THESE PASSAGES
Not only are we not accountable for our infirmity, sickness, weakness, we are not accountable for the imperfections caused by those maladies. Christ's blood cleanses from ALL SIN:
Sins Committed (deliberate acts of disobedience),
Sin Inherent (sinful nature),
And any "sin" (moral imperfection), which is the result of unintentional infractions of God's perfect standard.
We are only answerable for the sin, the disobedience, which we willingly allow.
PASSAGES
These verses (concerning "infirmities") don't all say the exact same thing. Read each one for greater understanding.
(from Demonic activity to Disease and Disability, Jesus blood covers us)
Matthew 8:14-17
14 And when Jesus was come into Peter's house, he saw his wife's mother laid, and sick of a fever.
15 And he touched her hand, and the fever left her: and she arose, and ministered unto them.
16 When the even was come, they brought unto him many that were possessed with devils: and he cast out the spirits with his word, and healed all that were sick:
17 That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying, Himself took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses.
(notice three different categories of "infirmities and plagues, and of evil spirits")
Luke 7:21
21 And in that same hour he cured many of their infirmities and plagues, and of evil spirits; and unto many that were blind he gave sight.
(the Holy Spirit helps us with, and through, our infirmities)
Romans 8:22-28
22 For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now.
23 And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body.
24 For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for?
25 But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.
26 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
27 And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.
28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
(believers support each other in times of difficulty)
Romans 15:1-5
1 We then that are strong ought to bear the infirmities of the weak, and not to please ourselves.
2 Let every one of us please his neighbour for his good to edification.
3 For even Christ pleased not himself; but, as it is written, The reproaches of them that reproached thee fell on me.
4 For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.
5 Now the God of patience and consolation grant you to be likeminded one toward another according to Christ Jesus:
(God is glorified, even in our infimities)
2 Corinthians 12:9-10
9 And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
10 Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.
(this passage make it clear that infirmity is not sin)
Hebrews 4:14-16
14 Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession.
15 For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.
16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.
