Ya reckon anyone thought it was absurd to look at the uplifted serpent?
There are worse things than living by faith.

Poisonous snakes were killing great numbers of people. God directed Moses to erect a Brazen Serpent in the midst of the camp. Whoever would look on the Brazen Serpent would be spared of death.
