11/04/19 GOOD QUESTION FOR A GOOD REASON
Do you actually, truly, really believe Jesus raised Himself physically from the dead?
I asked this question because it is so easy for people to just say they believe, without it being a deeply held conviction. Many who claim to believe in the resurrection will quickly deny it when they find out it is going to be costly, whether, socially, vocationally, legally or a threat to our very lives.
I have friends who claim to be Christians and claim to believe in the resurrection of Christ, but it is more of a formula or confessional belief than a heart felt belief. Some of them say the words, but do not really believe that God raised Jesus (that Jesus raised Himself) physically from the dead. I have friends that will "deny" this vital truth if they are threatened with any kind of repercussions.
(I also made reference to Jesus raising Himself from the dead because most people do not realize that is Biblical. They ONLY think in terms of God raised Him from the dead, which is true, but it is needs to be understood that the Bible says Jesus raised Himself, indicating that Jesus is God.)
