10/29/19 GOD'S CHOICES ARE NOT REGRETTABLE

10/29/19 GOD'S CHOICES ARE NOT REGRETTABLE

I never regret the course of my life (easy or hard) because God never makes mistakes or fails. God always has a reason.

I have always taught and preached that we should live without regret. In other words, live in such a way that you obey and follow God. In following God there will be disappointments, either because of our own failure to follow and trust God or because other people have done things that were sinful. But I have never regretted the times or places or people or ministries or even the lessons God has led me into.

God leads His children. If we don't follow we should repent (turn around) and follow. If God teaches us a lesson, we should learn it and move on. If we are stuck in a failure mode, it is our own fault. We should never complain because it indicates that we think God has failed.

Philippians 4:11-13
11 Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.
12 I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need.
13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

1 Timothy 6:6-8
6 But godliness with contentment is great gain.
7 For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.
8 And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.

Faith is not the obligatory positive note pinned to a diatribe of complaining, fault finding. Faith is living in confidence that *God does all things well, **He always causes me to triumph, ***He never leaves me nor forsakes me and ****He causes all things to work together for my good.

* Mark 7:31-37
31 And again, departing from the coasts of Tyre and Sidon, he came unto the sea of Galilee, through the midst of the coasts of Decapolis.
32 And they bring unto him one that was deaf, and had an impediment in his speech; and they beseech him to put his hand upon him.
33 And he took him aside from the multitude, and put his fingers into his ears, and he spit, and touched his tongue;
34 And looking up to heaven, he sighed, and saith unto him, Ephphatha, that is, Be opened.
35 And straightway his ears were opened, and the string of his tongue was loosed, and he spake plain.
36 And he charged them that they should tell no man: but the more he charged them, so much the more a great deal they published it;
37 And were beyond measure astonished, saying, He hath done all things well: he maketh both the deaf to hear, and the dumb to speak.

** 2 Corinthians 2:14-16
14 Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place.
15 For we are unto God a sweet savour of Christ, in them that are saved, and in them that perish:
16 To the one we are the savour of death unto death; and to the other the savour of life unto life. And who is sufficient for these things?

*** Hebrews 13:5-7
5 Let your conversation (behavior, conduct, communications) be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.
6 So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.
7 Remember them which have the rule over you, who have spoken unto you the word of God: whose faith follow, considering the end of their conversation.

**** Romans 8:28
28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

I have found that trusting and enjoying the presence, leading, lessons of God makes the journey a positive experience. If I find a twinge of resistance, I take it as a warning from God that I am not really trusting Him.
