08/04/19 WHY HYMNS ON YOUTUBE MATTER

Looking on YouTube for standard Christian hymns.
In many cases, only Black people sing them.
Thumbs up to Black singers.

It is good that Black singers have made the great music available. But it is also true that music styles are often different with different races. THAT IS NOT BAD.

What is bad is that some folks (in my case, non-Black) can't listen to the old hymns from our culture and heritage, in fact, the original style, culture and heritage of the traditional performance. This makes it difficult for me, a non singer and non musician, to share the song with other people. (Don't tell me how I should be more accepting of other cultures, since many of the songs have been changed by other cultures to please them). I enjoy different styles of music, but it is too bad that more people are not making the great messages in song available to the greater numbers of the population.

I am serious and sincere when I admire the Black community for sharing great Christian music (lyrics). I don't have a problem with any culture accommodating songs to bless and reach others, even if it is primarily their own culture.

Sadly, I think this situation underscores the fact that White folks are leading the way in distancing themselves from their Christian roots, heritage, culture and even the Christian message.

THEN AGAIN, maybe I am the only white guy who wants this music.
