05/25/19 THEY DIDN'T DIE FOR THIS

THEY DIDN'T DIE FOR THIS

I mention one of the songs written by our church folks from 35 years ago. It is entitled, They Didn't Die For This, and honors others who gave their lives for our freedom and well being. But as the title indicates, they didn't die for the direction our society has taken. Our society is choosing anti-family, anti-morality, anti-American, anti-Christian directions that dishonor those who made the sacrifices for us. The song reflects on military people, who left homes to die on foreign shores. It also reflects on those who died in the propagation of the Christian faith, in order for others to be saved. And ultimately, it refers to Jesus, who died to save us from our sins. No, they did not die for our society to end up in the terrible condition that it is choosing. We should not forget those who sacrificed for us. We should now be willing to sacrifice, in order for others to hear, believe and be saved from the truly deplorable direction that our nation has been going for so many decades. Sacrifice is costly, but it can bring rescue and deliverance for others.
