02/18/19 HOW I VIEW WORSHIP

First let me say something about my worship times with FGWC.
I enjoy services at FGWC, because of God's presence in the preacher and the people. I don't lose control, but I do get caught up.

There are not that many places I go, or churches I fellowship with that stir me in my worship. I am not talking about emotionalism, but emotion is part of worship for me. I like good preaching and I like to worship with people, in whom I have confidence that their walk matches their talk.

I am one of those folks who thinks, "I don't care how loud you shout, or how high you jump, just so long as you are walking straight when you hit the ground.

The Bible says that the spirit of a prophet is subject to the prophet. The Bible tells us that it is normal to worship God with quietness, praise, shouts, clapping, crying, song. Therefore, I try to live by the three points I made in an earlier post.
DON'T TIP THE CUP.
DON'T QUENCH THE SPIRIT.
DON'T MISS THE MOMENT.

I would never intentionally do anything to offend other believers in worship. I certainly would not take advantage of a good brother in the ministry or and his congregation. I don't want to be a stumbling block. I realize that some people and some churches do the jumping and shouting because they think it is expected or because it is what they WANT to do. I try to maintain composure, until I can hardly stand it. Of course, hearing old time salvation preached, triggers me.

Most of the time I listen in rapt silence or quiet agreement. Sometimes I just sit there and cry silently, brushing tears from my face. Oh yes, worship in a worshipful setting is like sitting together in heavenly places. I like being lifted up and feasting at the heavenly table.

Remember, this is not about going to a pep rally or a wild fire meeting. It has nothing to do with a cultural form of worship. I just enjoy lifting Him up freely in a love fest.
