02/16/19 TRUE FOR A LOCAL CHURCH ALSO
What Varley told Moody about a fully consecrated man is also true for a fully consecrated church.
THE BACKGROUND AND THE CHALLENGE
In 1873, the well known British evangelist, Henry Varley, said to D.L. Moody, as they sat together on a seat in a public park in Dublin, "The world has yet to see what God will do with and for and through and in and by the man who is fully consecrated to Him."
Moody understood that it could apply to him, since it only designated "a man," and not a special or exceptional man.
LIKEWISE, the same thought could be applied to a local church. I would state it this way,
"What would the world see God do, with and for and through and in and by a church that is fully consecrated to Him?"
It is hard enough to find a fully dedicated individual, therefore it is much less likely to find a fully dedicated local body of believers.
But how extraordinarily blesses is a community that has such a person, and how awesomely blessed would a community be if he had such a church in its midst?
