02/15/19 WORKING HARD IS NOT WORKS SALVATION

02/15/19 WORKING HARD IS NOT WORKS SALVATION

When I was young, mental work was more demanding than physical labor. It still is. And spiritual work, (e. g. preaching) is more demanding than either.

(This post is not about me, I only refer to myself as an example of other pastors).

I posted this because I remember people use to think that college was nothing more than party time. Well, that is be true for some people, but I worked various jobs during my college years. This included long hard days on a fishing boat during the summer (15 hr. days), or working from evening until early morning hours, loading and unloading tractor trailers, along with my full college load.

Through the years I have sometimes had to support myself with outside work. I have built and given away lawn care businesses, worked long hard hours for a moving company, loading and unloading furniture. I tell this because sometimes people don't appreciate the commitment that their pastor has in shepherding them. It is true that there are a great number of deadbeat preachers who choose the "ministry life" because they want an easy life. But a real worker in God's field knows better.

There are so many men today that are more concerned about their benefits and income than in the WORK of God. If you have a man who is God called, God equipped, God anointed, God lead, God empowered, then you better appreciate him and submit to him and follow him, as the Scriptures clearly teach. If you don't have a pastor who is doing a worthy ministry, then you need to waste no time. Go find one.
