12/02/19 THE CAPTAIN, THE CREW, THE CASTAWAY

12/02/19 THE CAPTAIN, THE CREW, THE CASTAWAY

About lifelines, again:
The Captain of Salvation (seeks & sends); The Rescuer (sometimes goes); The Perishing (often rejects).

CONSIDER...
* God is not willing that any should perish (1 Tm 2:3-6; 2 Pe. 3:9; 1 Jn. 2:1-2).
* God sent His Son to seek and to save (Jn. 3:17; Jn. 6:40; Ac. 3:26; Ga. 4:3-5; 1 Jn. 4:9-10; 1 Jn. 4:14; Lk. 4:18-19).
* Jesus sends His Spirit to confront, convict and convert (Jn. 14:26; 16:7-14; Lk. 11:13; Jn. 7:39; Jn. 1:33).
* The Holy Spirit sends believers to seek the lost and throw them a lifeline (Ac. 1:8; Lk. 10:17-20; Ac. 5:30-32; Ac. 10:39-41; Mt. 28:18-20).
* Believers sometimes seek those perishing in sin's dark sea, and throw them a lifeline (throughout the book of Acts), but oftentimes they do not go (1 Co. 15:34; Ro. 10:8-17). We all know that there are few who are involved in rescuing others, and sadly, the world condition reflects this truth.
* When believers throw the lifeline, those who are perishing often hold on to their earthly treasures and false hopes (Jn. 3:16-21; He. 2:3; He. 12:25; 1 Jn. 5:10; Lk. 19:16).
