04/15/19 GOD HAS GIVEN US HIS WORD

04/15/19 GOD HAS GIVEN US HIS WORD

The Holy Bible (700 languages), N.T (1521 languages), is result of the most scholarly, vigorous, critical linguistics work ever.

It is a false premise to say that the Bible is filled with errors and contradictions. Such a statement does not acknowledge the principles of translation and is ignorant of the meticulous linguistic scholarship that has gone into the preservation, translation and transmission of the Holy Bible.

Yes, there are faulty, there are corrupted translations and interpretations that are presented as the Holy Bible (O.T. & N.T), but those documents are recognized for their textual errors and fraudulent claims.

People can deny what the historical record of the Bible declares, but they cannot accurately deny that the historical record of the Bible says it.

In spite of the fact that the Scriptures have been translated into more than 1500 languages, as well as the many hundreds (thousands?) of translations and version in various languages (450 in English alone), the fundamental doctrines of the Christian faith are congruent. But remember, some translations or versions are admittedly Functional translations, rather than Formal Translation and some are known to be Paraphrase versions.

True scholarship, seeking Christian accuracy and honesty, turn to the more accurate translations (Formal), but even the Functional and Paraphrased editions (when studied as a body of work, rather than a specific verse or isolated passage) do not contradict fundamental Christian doctrines. The basic beliefs of the Christian faith are not revealed in obscure, questionable passages. The fundamental beliefs of the Christian faith cannot be legitimately assailed as being undocumented by the Holy Bible.

Obviously there are some differences in translations and versions, but the earnest believer is going to study the best translations and the documentation (cultural, linguistic, historical) in order to understand the revelation of God more accurately.

Obviously I don't understand all of the word of God, but I do understand enough to know that I can trust the word of God to be true and accurate, concerning faith, practice and facts. Whatever I need to know for life and godliness and faith is recorded in the Bible.

This post and comment is for the purpose of endorsing and recommending the revelation of God, and stating my faith in His revelation. This is not intended to invite or open a discussion concerning a specific translation. I do address this issue from time to time, especially when I deal with the false doctrines of the cults.

For those that have a favorite or ONLY translation, this post and comment is not intended to disagree or agree with you. I am overjoyed that you believe God and His word. Of course, I am more excited by the person who lives according to the revelation of God than I am with the person who only gives lip service to God and His word.
