01/21/19 MY RESPONSE TO POPULAR PREACHERS

Lydia messaged me about the Wolf Blood Moon tonight. Here are some photos I took. I know there are several that are almost the same, but I wanted to get good shots with my phone.
 
Someone asked my view concerning Hagee's book about 4 Blood Moons. Here is my response.

I don't have a problem believing that there are signs in the heavens, concerning various facts of natural, governmental and spiritual life. I also know that there are a great number of views concerning these events. I don't pay MUCH attention to most of the events and very little attention (often times, NO ATTENTION) to the views, explanations, interpretations that people associate with those events. I am not a sign seeker and I find enough revealed, infallible written truth to keep me busy that I don't have time for a lot of the side stories (often times, SIDE SHOWS).

One of the main problems with turning my focus to "interpretations" is that I am not really interested in aligning myself with popular or famous preachers or teachers. Even when a person has a really good grasp of one area of the Christian message, they often are very weak or totally off base on other areas that are even more important.

I spent decades studying the word of God and also studying what other "experts" had to say about the word of God. I learned a lot of good things, but as Solomon said,
Ecclesiastes 12:10-14
10 The preacher sought to find out acceptable words: and that which was written was upright, even words of truth.
11 The words of the wise are as goads, and as nails fastened by the masters of assemblies, which are given from one shepherd.
12 And further, by these, my son, be admonished: of making many books there is no end; and much study is a weariness of the flesh.
13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
14 For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.

Therefore, my focus is on the revealed word of God. If folks ever notice, I very seldom support my views by referring to mere men (regardless of how intelligent, educated and accurate they are), but rather I fall back on the Scriptures themselves. (YES, I do rely to a great extent on other men, commentators and especially those who are accomplished linguists and faithful translators of the Scriptures). However, understanding what the Bible says and explaining what the Bible means, are two different things. Too much of present day writing is man based. I believe it is better to be grounded in the basics of Scripture before we get excited about the more fun and colorful teachings of Scripture.

One of my problems with being a big fan of popular writers, preachers, teachers, is the fact that very few people actually know these people personally and therefore people often become fans of a PERSONALITY and they lose focus of the ONE PERSON they need. Then, of course, they form an allegiance and alliance with their favorite preachers, authors, even when there are problem areas in that preacher's life.

I seldom post about some of the more trendy type signs. This is because I don't like to say something simple, which may be misunderstood. I would much rather give a foundation for my beliefs. This is especially dangerous when the interpretations that are being offered are based on limited or prejudiced information, since God has not made it the right time to understand the meaning of a sign.

I am very careful not to readily take hold of an interpretation without knowing a teacher's broader view of the Bible and doctrine. The misinterpretation of one doctrine can throw off our understanding of other doctrines.
