01/10/19 A THANK YOU TO MY HELPERS
One of my grandsons reminded me during Bible Study that Peter may have asked to be crucified "upside down." It helped clarify something I said about why the Romans used upside down crucifixions. (I think my answer was focused on the act, rather than the personality involved.)
I appreciate it when people help me keep the facts straight or when they help me make my point clear. This is especially true when there is a spirit of humility and helpfulness on their part.
I know that I sometimes misstate things, for various reasons. I also try to correct errors or misunderstandings. I don't want to be the reason someone is misinformed. Also, I would not be happy if anyone was sitting around, waiting for me or anyone else to misspeak. That would be in the spirit of pride and discord.
I am grateful that folks listen close enough to hear what I say. I am grateful for people having the confidence that they can help me keep the record straight. In this particular case the one who spoke up was only 11 years old. I am grateful for people who love me and only want to be a help and support to me as I try to build other people up.
