01/10/19 INTERESTING INFO GROUP... THE CROSS

I added this article because our Bible Study on the previous night included this subject. I pointed out that I believe in a traditional cross ✝️, but the Bible does not specify.

The form or shape of the "cross" has been different at different periods of history, which implies the traditional cross. However, the style, shape, form of the cross upon which Jesus died is not the issue. The FACT that He died on the cross and the FACT that He was raised physically and the FACT that He raised Himself IS THE MAIN ISSUE.

Watchtower people (JWs) can fret all they want concerning the form of the cross, tree, but they err eternally by denying His physical resurrection and denying His Deity.

I also addressed the Biblical use of the word, TREE in reference to the death of Jesus, and the supposed idea that Jesus Himself was cursed by God. I will not take the time to explain the meaning of the passages in Deuteronomy and Galatians at this time. However, Jesus was not cursed of God and the fact is that the TREE in the Deuteronomy passage (and alluded to by Paul in Galatians) was an actual TREE and not a cross, though it appears to be associated with the cross in the Galatians passage.

I realize this little post (comment) does not answer the questions. Of course, if you came to our Bible Study you would get a lot more info. hehehe
