06/08/19 SIN SINS?

06/08/19 SIN SINS?

Sin kills. Sin makes you stupid. Sin blinds you. Sin brings division. Sin destroys. Sin corrupts. Sin steals. Sin lies. Sin sins.

SIN SINS?
I wasn't desperate for a last point. Actually, this is a very theological point.

The word, "Sin" is used in two different ways.
#1 Sin is the action or behavior (word, though or deed), which is disobedience to God's authority.
#2 Sin is the nature of rebellion, which has been passed on to every child of Adam. It is from this nature that the actions and behavior naturally flow.

It is also possible for a person without Sin Nature to disobey God (remember Adam and Eve were created without sinful natures, yet they sinned).

The reason, "Sin Sins" is important is because it points out two things.
#1 Even after we are converted, Christians still have a natural propensity to sin. This inner drive to sin often results in disobedience. Therefore every Christian has the need for God to deliver them from the Sin Nature, after they are converted, since the Sin Nature (Old Man, Carnal Mind, Flesh, Double Mindedness, Sin) must be removed by God's purifying grace. This is because our conversion, justification, regeneration does not purify us from our Sin Nature. Remember, we cannot be forgiven of our Sin Nature, since it is something we inherited rather than something we did. Initial salvation forgives us of our SINS (plural), actions, it does not purify us from the Sinful Nature.

#2 God cleanses believing Christians from the inherent inclination (Sin Nature) to commit sin (disobey God). The Bible tells believers to be purified, to be made holy, to be delivered from "this body of death," from "the law of sin and death," (the Sin Nature. The purifying of the Christian is accomplished through the Blood of Christ, the Power of the Holy Spirit and the Word of God. Without this Entire Sanctification, this Holiness, no man shall see the Lord. This purifying of the heart does not take away our free will, but it does deliver us from the inner desire to depart from the Living God.

Therefore, "SIN SINS" points out our need for God's cleansing deliverance and it points out the promise of God to cleanse us from all sin, thus delivering us from the inner pollution of Sin.

GOD FORGIVES SINNERS AND PURIFIES BELIEVERS
Jesus saves us from our SINS and He is the Lamb of God that takes away the Sin of the world. Jesus makes us pure, even as He is pure. Not only are we partakers of Divine Nature, we are conformed to the image of God's Own Son.
