This post from several years ago goes well with posts I made this morning.

ANYBODY BUT JESUS
Like it or not, this is the silent mantra being repeated in the hearts of people today. This world is in such a mess (and it looks like it might get worse before it gets better), that people are looking for a superman to save the world. NO, not a funny book character in tights, but a SUPER MAN.

The world does not care if the hero is Muslim, pagan, atheist, Catholic, Mormon, Hindu, Buddhist, or even some liberal who calls himself a Christian. But they do not want Jesus ruling over their hearts.

Jesus is not running for office, much less for the office of human leader. But if He was, the world would reject Him. However, He is offering the world the only valid alternative to a world in chaos, yet they will not yield their hearts to Him.

When Jesus is King, He requires complete loyalty in His Kingdom. Very few people are willing to yield to His absolute rule. Funny thing is, His rule is benevolent and wise and broad. It just does not allow sin, rebellion, anarchy, disloyalty.

Therefore, I hope that you are one of those few who yields to the authority of Christ and you trust Him completely with your past, present and your eternal future. If you have not already received Him as Lord of your life, do it now. It gets more difficult as the days go by.
