04/16/19 BENEFITS AND RESPONSE TO TRIALS

James 1:2-4
2 My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;
3 Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.
4 But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.

Ephesians 5:18-21
18 And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;
19 Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord;
20 Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;
21 Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God.

Philippians 4:4-9

Colossians 3:12-17

1 Thessalonians 5:16-19
16 Rejoice evermore.

Hebrews 13:15-16
15 By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name.
16 But to do good and to communicate forget not: for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.

Psalms 34:1-4
1 A Psalm of David, when he changed his behaviour before Abimelech; who drove him away, and he departed. I will bless the LORD at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth.
2 My soul shall make her boast in the LORD: the humble shall hear thereof, and be glad.
3 O magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt his name together.

In my comment I included a portion of the context for each verse, with the specific statement concerning trial(s). I did this because the context shows the circumstances and relationships applicable to the trials. I do this also because it shows the appropriateness of trials to the benefits. I do this because it indicates the attitude of those going through the trials.

I understand that you pick up on these things. But there are people who will skim over the passages, not getting the impact of the reference. There will be some folks who read the passage, but still don't think outside of the single verse which mentions the word trial.
