04/14/19 NO APOSTOLIC SUCCESSION IN SCRIPTURE

04/14/19 NO APOSTOLIC SUCCESSION IN SCRIPTURE

Interpretation of God's word is not left to any reader or body of readers. Interpretation comes from the One who Authored it.

2 Peter 1:20-21
20  Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.
21  For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.

No person or group of people, whether religious or not, whether academics or not, whether living or not, was given the right or responsibility to interpret the word of God from their own point or points of view.

It is argued that the New Testament was written by the Church, to the Church and for the Church, therefore the Church has the right to interpret it. NOT SO.

The New Testament was given by God to the Apostles and Prophets of the New Testament to be given to the Church, for the Church. But God never relinquished His authority over His word to anyone.

The Church has been given the responsibility to lift and support, contend and proclaim, and administer or carry out the directives of God's word.

Great "Church" bodies have taken it upon themselves to interpret, reinterpret the Bible and they have given themselves the authority to do so. This is why religious bodies like the RC, CoE, Lutherans, CoS. and others have excused the atrocities of war, political corruption, along with doctrinal and behavioral deviance in the lives of the members.
